Digital Citizenship Curriculum Spiritual Formation 2021-2022
As explained in August during Virtual School of Rhetoric Principal-Parents Fellowship, School of Rhetoric students will learn further that they need digital citizenship skills to participate fully in their communities and make smart choices online and in life. In short, CBCS would like to partner with parents to help students take ownership of their digital lives.
Therefore in School of Rhetoric, we plan to have few meetings as a grade level in the first semester to discuss further below:
| Grade 10 My Media Use: A Personal Challenge 1. Reflect on how their social media use makes them feel and how it compares to other teenagers'.2. Describe how active and passive social media use can lead to positive and negative feelings.3. Identify action steps to increase their positive feelings when using social media. |
Grade 11Can Media Be Additive? 1. Analyze and draw conclusions about a series of photos depicting device use.2. Use online resources to track arguments for and against whether we are addicted to our devices.3. Complete a short writing assignment analyzing one or more aspects related to the device addiction debate. |
Grade 12The Health Effects of Screen Time 1. Identify research trends related to the health impact of screen time.2. Reflect on the nature of their own screen time and how it compares to that of parents and teens generally.3. Use the Digital Habits Checkup routine to create a personal challenge to change a media habit. |
It would be great for parents also to have a conversation about this matter at home. Feel free to access the Common Sense Media: Aged-Based Media Reviews for Families link. Common Sense has been the leading independent source for media recommendations and advice for families, therefore it would be a great advantage if we as a school with you as parents can help them grow as a wise digital citizen.
The students also will get lessons regarding Digital Citizenship 2 (two) times this semester. It will be given on October 12 and November 9 in the chapel.
"Digital citizenship is one of the most important elements in our lives. We use your resources every day. Thank you!"

Digital Citizenship Curriculum Spiritual Formation 2021-2022
|
Grade 10 My Media Use: A Personal Challenge |
Grade 11 Can Media Be Additive? |
Grade 12 The Health Effects of Screen Time |
Jangan ragu untuk mengakses tautan Common Sense Media: Aged-Based Media Reviews for Families link.
